This was the last of my three consecutive weddings in two weekends at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club. This was a really big wedding with a large bridal party, a reception in the main ballroom and a great live band. I sent my assistant over to take pictures with the groom and groomsmen as they got ready at Pawleys Plantation. I went over to Litchfield Plantation where the bride was getting ready. I’ve had a very busy October this year with weddings. In fact, I had three weddings in two weeks at one of my favorite locations, Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club. The wedding I’m featuring below was a small relaxed one. This gave me more time for taking pictures with the bride and groom after the ceremony. This beautiful wedding at a private home in Pawleys Island was a great way to start my busy spring season. A couple of weeks before the wedding, I met the bride at her wedding location for some portraits. The marsh boardwalks in Pawleys are always beautiful for pictures. It’s been a several years since I did a photography session at Litchfield Plantation in Pawleys Island. My last wedding back in 2011 at Litchfield Plantation was really beautiful with the bride arriving on a horse-drawn carriage. I was told they were no longer booking events and that they were turning the area into a housing development, but I guess that decision was changed. The recently engaged couple featured in this post had family that owned a home inside Litchfield Plantation, so we were able to do the engagement pictures wherever we liked. This was another stunning wedding couple that I had the privilege to photograph at the Kimbels Restaurant at Wachesaw Plantation in Murrells Inlet, SC. I’ve had a couple of weddings there this year that turned out fantastic. This bride and groom, instead of having the wedding ceremony on the lawn at Wachesaw Plantation, held it at a historic location in downtown Georgetown. This couple did the traditional wedding receiving line after the ceremony. The Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club has been one of my favorite wedding locations for many years now. They have some new event staff at Pawleys Plantation I met for the first time. They were very friendly and everything went smoothly with the ceremony and reception. They also remodeled the ballroom a while back with a more modern look and nicer colors. This wedding was a great way to begin my 2016 season. I always love going to the Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club area to photograph a wedding. I’ve been there so many times that I know the best photo spots and where to get good light during different times of the afternoon. I always love photographing weddings down near the inlet area of Pawleys Island. This wedding was small and relaxed without a large bridal party. The bride was getting ready at her parent’s home and the ceremony was at the small chapel on the marsh in Pawleys Island. The chapel is really lovely because the big windows overlooking the marsh let in a lot of soft light that hits the couple during the ceremony. I always love going to Wachesaw Plantation for a wedding. The oak trees on the Waccamaw River make an excellent backdrop for pictures, especially at sunset. It’s been a long time since I’ve photographed a wedding with a horse and carriage, and it always makes for some great pictures. I guess riding in on a carriage is the type of thing you have to be at a plantation or garden-style location like Wachesaw for it to work. A few weeks ago, I photographed another beautiful wedding at the Heritage Plantation clubhouse in Pawleys Island, SC.  It’s been a few years since I’ve been there, it’s a great location, so hopefully, I can get on their vendor list and get some more weddings at the club.
