March is always busy time in Myrtle Beach for engagement pictures with couples getting married later in the year. I just wanted to post some quick pictures from two recent engagement session. The Pelican Inn is a bed and breakfast built in the mid-1800s in the beautiful Pawleys Island, SC area. While the house itself is not very impressive looking from the outside, it’s in a perfect location between the salt marsh and beach, surrounded by old oak trees and greenery. It’s a unique spot, and I don’t know of any other wedding location in the area quite like it. The inside of the house has a very rustic look but is clean and air conditioned. Pawleys Plantation in Pawleys Island, SC, is still one of my favorite wedding locations. The staff is excellent, and everything is always well organized. Sunsets are also beautiful in front of the clubhouse and out of the golf course itself. Kiely and Carson, the bride and groom, had some of the best smiles I’ve had with a wedding couple. In almost every picture, especially when they looked at each other, they had big natural smiles and looked very happy. This always makes it easy to get great photos. This was my second wedding this year at the beautiful Wachesaw Plantation in Murrells Inlet, SC. Some of my favorite wedding pictures in my galleries have been from Wachesaw Plantation. Symmes, the bride, began her preparations at Stox & Co salon in Litchfield. I met them there to get some pictures of the hair and makeup prep and just some fun pictures of the bridesmaids hanging out before getting dressed. Winter wedding at the Litchfield Country Club in Pawleys Island

This fun wedding at the Litchfield Country Club in Pawleys Island was a great way to start the 2019 wedding season! Even though it was early in March, the temperature was perfect. It was overcast for most of the day including during the ceremony. However, the sun poked out from the clouds just in time for some beautiful sunset shots of the couple on the golf course. Engagement pictures at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawleys Island

I had a fun winter engagement session at Pawleys Island’s Caledonia Golf & Fish Club this past weekend. This is a beautiful former site of a southern rice plantation located along the Waccamaw River. The best feature here is the entrance roadway. It’s surrounded by centuries old live oak trees with their moss covered branches overhanging the roadway. I’ve noticed for engagement pictures in Myrtle Beach. Couples are usually looking for either beach pictures or for an area with a lot of large trees where the sunlight can filter through the moss. I was just completing the wedding album for Sarah and Jeff, the bride and groom from a beautiful wedding this past October 27th. I photographed a beautiful wedding ceremony on the front lawn of Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club in Pawleys Island, SC. This was the first time Pawleys Plantation held a wedding in front of the clubhouse. Typically the weddings are held on the back lawn overlooking the golf course. The bride needed the wedding in the front to ride a horse-drawn carriage with her father right up to the ceremony location. I recently photographed another great wedding at Pawleys Plantation in Pawleys Island. As I’ve mentioned before, this is one of my favorite locations and I usually photograph a number of weddings here each year. The staff always does a great job with the organization, decorations, and catering, and things always go very smoothly. We had great weather for the wedding ceremony on the lawn behind the golf club. The only problem was the strong sun on the bride’s face during the ceremony. Thankfully, the groom was tall enough to give her some shade. I always like to shoot a couple …

This bride and groom, Mary and Shane, had a beautiful wedding ceremony at the Pawleys Island Chapel with a reception at the Reserve Harbor Yacht Club. They also had their two daughters featured as flower girls in the wedding.
