Brookgreen Gardens is a breathtaking statue garden located in Murrells Inlet, SC. There are beautiful foliage and flowers in the spring and summer, and in the winter, the Night of a Thousand Candles is amazing for photography. Weddings can be held in the main gardens or the gates on the Oak Allee.
Pawleys Plantation is one of my favorite golf country clubs in Pawleys Island, SC. They have a large, beautiful ballroom and amazing golf course views. The staff allows me to use a golf cart to take the bride and groom to my favorite sunset spots for pictures under the mossy oaks.
White Oaks Farm is a new wedding venue in Longs, SC, about 30 minutes from Myrtle Beach. Everything is fresh and modern, with special rooms for the bride and groom, clean white walls, and elegant hardwood floors. They are constantly making updates, such as the new ceremony patio under the arches on the lake.
Caledonia Golf has many beautiful outdoor areas for pictures surrounded by ancient oak trees covered in moss with that perfect look of the SC Lowcountry. This is such a beautiful area for an outdoor wedding and reception. I not only photograph weddings here but also bridal, family, and engagement pictures when clients want a change from the beach. It’s located on the Waccamaw River in Pawleys Island, SC.
The Kimbels restaurant in Pawleys Island, SC, has an elegant large ballroom for wedding receptions surrounded by windows and a patio overlooking the Waccamaw River. The ceremony area is breathtaking at sunset, with the light pouring through ancient moss-covered oaks.
Pine Lakes is another beautiful golf country club located in the heart of Myrtle Beach. There is a wide red brick walkway leading to a beautiful spot for a ceremony in front of flowers and trees. The fountain in front of the clubhouse is another great spot for pictures. This location has one of the most elegant ballrooms with a fireplace, beautiful windows, and hanging chandeliers.
The Dunes Golf and Beach Club is another of my favorite locations for weddings in Myrtle Beach. I know the staff well, and they are always friendly and helpful. The ballroom is beautiful, with large windows overlooking the ocean. The many options for pictures include steps going to a golf course overlook, great golf course views, old oak trees, and the beach itself.
Litchfield Country Club is located in Pawleys Island and is a great location for small to medium size weddings. It has a dance floor and dining area on the second floor of the clubhouse. I love the huge windows in the ballroom at The Village House in Pawleys Island. They make a great background for pictures of the bridal party before the ceremony. They recently expanded and now have a large indoor ceremony area and lots of room for seating and dancing.
There are many farm venues in Marion, SC. Wildberry Farm is one of my favorites, with a rustic barn area for the reception and a choice of a small chapel or outdoor ceremony on the lake. There is also a separate cottage for the bride’s preparations. Check out some of the beautiful spring flowers in my featured weddings.
Wildhorse at Parker Farms is a great venue in Longs, SC especially if you love horses. This is a simple venue with an outdoor wedding area and an open-air barn for the reception. It has some elegant features like a fireplace and stained glass. When the owner calls over the horses, they love meeting the bride and groom and being a great backdrop for pictures. There are also some beautiful spots on the marsh with light pouring in through all the trees.
This location, previously known as the Reserve Harbor Yacht Club, is another great location for smaller weddings. I love where they hold the ceremony in front of an old brick fence and beautiful oaks. There is a unique boardwalk winding through the woods and down on the river that is a beautiful spot for pictures with the bride and groom.
I always love going to Magnolia Plantation and Gardens even though it’s a couple of hours trip for me into Charleston, SC. It’s one of the best garden venues in the area.
This is a hotel located at the very south end of Myrtle Beach. There is a large lawn behind the resort for ceremonies and a pretty beach area for pictures. The Members Club is located over the private bridge inside the Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach, SC. This classic clubhouse has large stained glass doors, chandeliers in the ballroom, and many columns. The golf course has great views for pictures at sunset.
This small chapel is over 75 years old and popular for wedding ceremonies. It’s in a beautiful spot on the marsh in Pawleys Island, SC. Lighting inside can be tricky, but I have some techniques to deal with that. There are beautiful spots on the marsh boardwalks and beach for pictures after.
