Touching foreheads in front of the ocean - Pawleys Island

Rainy wedding day at Pawleys Plantation with a first look on the beach

First look on the beach in Pawleys Island Lauren was so excited about the pictures for her December wedding. When checking the weather a couple of days before, it was forecast to rain all day. She asked me if it would be possible to do a first look with Daniel, her fiance, and some pictures on the beach in Pawleys Island before the wedding. I had the day open, so I was happy to do it. I’m glad we were able to do this. It ended up being a beautiful evening on the beach. It even gave me a chance …

Portrait in front of the venue - The Venue at White Oaks Farm

My first wedding at the Venue at White Oaks Farm near Myrtle Beach

It’s not often that I get to do photography at a completely new wedding venue. The Venue at White Oaks Farm started hosting wedding events this past summer, and they seem to be doing quite well. This venue is located north of Longs; it’s about 30 minutes inland from Myrtle Beach. It was actually a really easy drive. I was already on the White Oaks Farm vendor list because I had done some engagement photography at their other location, Inlet Point Plantation Stables. I very much appreciate being on the vendor list at wedding venues. A lot of my clients …

Bride and groom looking at each other framed by a old oak in the background - Pawleys Plantation

Beautiful sunset on the golf course at Pawleys Plantation

I always love Fall weddings at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club. It’s so lovely this time of year without the heat and humidity. Matthew and Taylor were a fun and relaxed wedding couple with a small bridal party of the groom’s brothers and the bride’s sister. They had my photo booth at this wedding, so I arrived about an hour early to help my wife set everything up. They had a custom backdrop with a wood lattice and some beautiful foliage. I ended up hanging my gold backdrop behind the lattice; this hid the wall in the background and …

Bride and groom with classic car at night - Dunes Golf and Beach Club

Fall wedding at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club with a large bridal party and lots of dancing

I had a great time photographing Ashley and Dustin’s fun wedding at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach. This wedding was one of those that got a little wild later in the evening. Everyone had a blast on the dance floor and in the photo booth. I actually shot Ashley’s brother’s wedding back in 2017 at the Grande Dunes Members Club. They had a great dance party at their wedding as well. The Dunes Golf and Beach Club is a unique location for a wedding. I can’t think of anywhere nearby with both the beach and golf …

After dark pictures under the lights in the courtyard - 21 Main Events at North Beach

Wedding at 21 Main Events with a flower cannon and local celebrity visit

I’ve been shooting a lot of weddings lately at 21 Main Events at North Beach. It’s becoming one of my favorite venues. I really like the combination of the private courtyard for the ceremony, then the gazebo and beach for pictures at sunset. Plus they have have really great food. My wife Lizeth came along as a second photographer on this wedding. I recommend a second shooter for weddings at 21 Main because she can take pictures from up on the balcony during the ceremony. When we arrived Alexandra, the bride, wasn’t at the venue yet. However her dress, flowers …

Groomsmen and bridesmaids cheering for bride and groom while they kiss - Kaminski House Museum

Wedding on the lawn at the Kaminski House Museum in Georgetown, SC

This was my first time photographing a wedding at the historic Kaminski House Museum in Georgetown. This is located at the end of the Harborwalk on the Sampit River in Georgetown. This house was built back in the mid 1700’s by a wealthy SC merchant. Sometimes I forget what a long history Georgetown has. After many renovations and changes, this is a very beautiful area for a wedding ceremony. There are huge oaks and lots of foliage on the bank of the river that make a beautiful background for the ceremony and pictures after. Thankfully, Georgetown isn’t like it used …

Groom pushing back bride's hair for a kiss - North Beach Resort & Villas

Intimate wedding on the beach at the North Beach Resort & Villas

I’ve done many weddings and family portraits session on the beach behind the North Beach Resort (formerly North Beach Plantation) towers. These towers are located at the very south end of North Myrtle Beach across from Barefoot Landing. This wedding was unique for me, in that the reception was also held in the Blu Lounge inside the Indigo Tower. Most of my weddings at this location have their reception back at 21 Main Events. This reception in the Blu Lounge was still catered by the 21 Main Events staff, so of course the food and service was really good. First …

Kiss on the white bridge with reflection in the water - Magnolia Plantation

Wedding portraits on the white bridge at Magnolia Plantation

I always love weddings at the Carriage House in Magnolia Plantation. Cassie and Caleb are a really sweet and easy going couple that was great to work with. Their wedding was on August 28th, so it was a really hot and humid day in Charleston. Thankfully, there is lots of beautiful shade under the mossy oaks. They also have some great AC in the Carriage House and bride’s cottage. I tried to not get anyone too hot and sweaty before the ceremony started. When I arrived, I started with pictures of the bride and bridesmaids in their cottage near the …

Kiss by the lake - Wild Wing Plantation

Wedding and reception at Wild Wing Plantation in Conway, SC

I especially like to make a blog post when I photograph a wedding at a new venue or location. This was my first time going to the Wild Wing Plantation Clubhouse for a wedding on the golf course. This wedding actually took place back in mid July. I’ve been so busy over the summer, I’m just now getting back to posting some pictures on my blog. Many more weddings will be coming soon. Wild Wing Plantation has an elegant clubhouse with a large central stairway. This leads to a big upstairs room for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready …

Bride and groom under the moss on the Riverwalk - Conway Riverwalk

Emotional wedding at Brookgreen Gardens Holliday Cottage; Groom wore a Scottish Kilt

I always love weddings at Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet. It’s located about 30 minutes south of Myrtle Beach, across from the Huntington Beach State Park. My family portrait clients are always asking me about the origins of the Atalaya Castle. I end up talking about the sculptures in Brookgreen Gardens and I’m surprised how many people have never heard of it. It’s a really beautiful area and one of the nicest things to visit when in Myrtle Beach. Hilleri and Tom had their wedding at the Holliday Cottage area in Brookgreen Gardens. I always love the upstairs area in …
