Veil blowing in the wind under the wedding arch in strong direct sun - Beach House in Pawleys Island

Intimate beach house wedding with a reception at The Village House in Litchfield

It’s been a while since I posted pictures from a beach house wedding on my blog, so I thought this recent intimate wedding in Pawleys Island would be a great opportunity. Kristi and Che had a beautiful beach house near the southern end of Pawleys Island at 492 Myrtle Ave. This house is unique, surrounded by dense trees and foliage pushing up against either side, and has beautiful shaded views from the porches and beach walkway. At this wedding, I was working with my favorite videographer, Jerry, from Luminous Event Films. They also had Ash Events for wedding planning and …

Intimate wedding at Cherry Grove Point in North Myrtle Beach

I always love when I have a chance to post pictures from a wedding at a new location. I’ve actually done family pictures at the Point in Cherry Grove, but I’ve never shot a wedding ceremony there. This is a unique location in North Myrtle Beach where House Creek meets up with the ocean and there are lots of undulating natural dunes. This is the second time I’ve been to this beach house in Holden Beach, NC, for a wedding. Because of my earlier wedding there, I was told I came highly recommended, which is always nice. I’ve been to many different beach locations for weddings, and this one is pretty unique. Almost anywhere you go around this area, the houses are built right up next to the ocean, and in some spots at high tide, there is hardly any beach even left. In this area, the beach houses were built far back from the ocean. A long walk down to the beach through …

Small beach house wedding down in Garden City, SC

I think a beach house wedding is a great idea if you plan a smaller, more intimate ceremony and if it is the time of the year when the weather is nice. I’ve had a lot of previous clients that will rent a large beach house, have the wedding down on the beach, and then have the reception in the house’s backyard. I’m sure this has to be a lot easier on a budget than many of the popular hotel and club locations.  Sometimes I can even get better pictures of a couple at a smaller, less involved event because …
