Couple kissing on the fallen tree

Pawleys Plantation wedding with a Beauty and the Beast themed reception

I always love going to Pawleys Plantation Golf Club for a wedding. It’s a beautiful area, and the staff there is very friendly. I loved the bride’s dress at this wedding. She had a Beauty and the Beast Disney theme for the dress and wedding reception. You can see some pictures of the ballroom decorations below. I recently got a new 14mm prime lens, so I enjoyed playing around with some wide-angle shots of the reception decorations. Looking through the lens, it was so wide that I realized I was almost sticking my camera in the cake. It’s not the …

Couple laying together in the sand - Litchfield Beach

Engagement pictures at the Litchfield Golf and Beach Club

I had the opportunity to do engagement pictures for this very nice couple staying at the Litchfield Golf and Beach Club. I’ve done weddings in this area before, but I’ve never been there for engagement pictures. I’m glad they suggested doing them there because it is a really pretty area. I knew some of the spots I liked out in front of the club from previous weddings, it’s always great when you can get some nice light coming through the leaves of oak trees. Using a really good lens blurs out the background sunlight in a really pretty way. The …

First ever wedding on the Barefoot Resort Love Course with a bit of Dr. Who

This was the first-ever wedding held at this spot on the Barefoot Resort and Golf Love Course. It was held at a nice spot where they have the recreated ruins of an old plantation home along holes 3-7. The mother and father of the groom were long-time members of Barefoot resort, so they were given the special opportunity to do a wedding at this spot. I’ve done many weddings backing up to golf courses, but never one where there were no golfers to watch out for. This was special because the entire course was closed down for us. We had the location …

Early afternoon wedding at the Pine Lakes Country Club

This is the first wedding ceremony I’ve done at the Pine Lakes Country Club. It was a small wedding early on a Friday afternoon and it turned out very nice. Not having a big bridal party can actually be a lot less stressful. The wedding ceremony was at a bad time of the day for the sun, but thankfully the back of the club has a nice shaded area for the ceremony.  We went down to the beach briefly for some pictures after the ceremony and then back out for some sunset pictures later in the evening.  I’m really liking …

Sunset ceremony - Litchfield Country Club

Sunset ceremony at the Litchfield Country Club – New Storyboard Layout

The wedding I’m featuring this week was from the Litchfield Country Club in Pawleys Island. It’s actually been a couple of years since I have done a wedding at this location. I was a little worried about the pictures because they wanted to do a first look and then do all the family and couples pictures before the ceremony. This means we had to start the pictures around 2 pm when the sun was still very much overhead in the sky. If this would have been at an open sky location like the beach, not only will everyone be squinting, …

Ethiopian wedding at the Dunes Club in Myrtle Beach

I always like it when I get to do a wedding with a different cultural style. This was my first Ethiopian-style wedding at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club up in Myrtle Beach. This wedding was typical, but they had some exciting customs at the reception.  The dancing was different from what I’m used to. It got all the family involved and made for some good pictures. The only problem we had was that the wedding was running almost an hour late, so by the time I got to take the couple’s pictures, we had very little time left.  I …
