We used Ryan in North Myrtle Beach about 6 years ago and you bet we wanted to reach out to him again! His wife, Lizeth, did our photography this year and she did an exceptional job with a group of 21 (including babies). She was so patient with us...getting all the group shots, baby shots, individual families, Grandparent shots, cousins, all couples and much, much more. She thought of everything, and for that we are very grateful because it's not easy to think of all the shots you would like in the moment. Lizeth was so prompt, so efficient, so good with the kids, and just the sweetest! The photography was absolutely beautiful and we 100% recommend Lizeth...she does an excellent job!!

I cannot recommend Ryan enough! We had a very large group of 18 people, including 7 little ones. He was so patient and easy going. We never felt rushed. He made sure each individual family had photos they would love and he captured amazing group photos as well. Everybody is more than pleased with the beautiful photos and we can’t wait to use him again on our future trips to South Carolina!
I had a family vacation planned in Myrtle Beach, where I wanted to get professional family pictures taken while we were there. I browsed Google searches and came across Ryan Smith Photography. Going through his portfolio of pictures online, I knew he would be a good fit for what we were after… fun, candid, beach, etc.
Ryan had great communication from the start through the whole process- about setting dates, payment options, meet up details, parking logistics, processing time, etc.
He gave great instructions on where to meet and we followed to the nearby park he suggested. The location was great, offering a mix of different picture background options, in addition to the beach pictures, which was a nice bonus to mix up the pictures we had available to us at the end.
We had a group of 7, ages ranging from seniors to teenagers. Ryan was great at suggesting ideas, poses, and what angles to shoot from. He also let us come up with a few ideas to add to the mix of picture options. He was super flexible!
We were shooting for probably a good 1 hour to 1.5 hours.
Ryan is very personable and made us feel comfortable! You can really tell this by the results of our pictures, where no one seemed uncomfortable or stiff. We all had fun and had a lot of laughs that he was able to really capture for us.
Overall I would recommend Ryan and his skills for anyone looking for family pictures, weddings, senior pictures, etc. He truly is so talented and I (and my whole family) were very impressed with the results.

We hired Ryan for our engagement session and for our wedding photographer. We recently had our engagement session with him and got our photos back within two weeks and they turned out great!
Ryan was excellent in helping me plan my proposal to my now fiancée at Huntington Beach state park. He was very accommodating and answered all of my questions. The photos he took turned out phenomenally (we were both so impressed); it was a luxury to have full access to the entire catalog of high-resolution and fully-edited photos that were taken. He knew the area very well which made the process run super smoothly. I strongly recommend Ryan for all of your photography needs, but especially any surprise proposals!
Ryan did a fantastic job with our engagement and wedding photos! He was both friendly and professional. For the wedding, he arrived early so that he could survey the property, find the best photo areas, and start shooting. I could tell that he was making every effort to capture the perfect photos for us and to incorporate the shots we wanted. I’m interested in photography (as a hobby), so I appreciated that he occasionally explained why he was using a certain lens, having us stand in a particular area, etc. He was fun to work with. Looking at the photos, you would have never guessed that this was his first time visiting the venue. There are so many beautiful pictures, I don’t know how we’ll choose which ones we want to print! Ryan was quick to respond to our inquiry about taking our family pictures, and he was very flexible at meeting at our desired location since we had a big group of 15.
