Sunset ceremony - Litchfield Country Club

Sunset ceremony at the Litchfield Country Club – New Storyboard Layout

The wedding I’m featuring this week was from the Litchfield Country Club in Pawleys Island. It’s actually been a couple of years since I have done a wedding at this location. I was a little worried about the pictures because they wanted to do a first look and then do all the family and couples pictures before the ceremony. This means we had to start the pictures around 2 pm when the sun was still very much overhead in the sky. If this would have been at an open sky location like the beach, not only will everyone be squinting, …

Fun sunset pictures with the bride and groom at Holden Beach, NC

This is the first time I’ve been up to Holden Beach in NC for a wedding. This wedding was for a couple that was bringing together their two families with adult children. Everyone just seemed really happy and got along great. That always makes things easier for me. The wedding was held at a really pretty private home on the ocean. It was quite a long walk from the beach house down to the actual ocean. The area behind the house was huge and just full of dunes and sea oats, as well as a small lake surrounded by tall …

Wedding and reception on Bald Head Island, NC

This was an exciting wedding for me, this was my first time to Bald Head Island, NC and it is a very beautiful area. If you are unfamiliar, the island is an almost 2-hour trip north of Myrtle Beach. To get onto the island you have to park and leave your car and take about a half-hour ferry ride out. There are no cars on the island, just a lot of golf carts, bikes, and shuttles. The actual area of the wedding ceremony was called the old baldy lighthouse.  That is where you see that shot of the bride in …

After reception trash the dress at a wedding in Ocean Isle Beach

I had a lot of fun after the wedding reception with this couple.  They planned it so they could go to the reception for a couple of hours, then do a trash-the-dress session at sunset before leaving for the evening.  I’ve never had a bride and groom get completely in the ocean like they did.  The only problem we had was getting eaten alive by mosquitoes, but I don’t let anything stop me when I was shooting.  The poor bride in the first picture below had scratches that I had to Photoshop out on her arms because of getting bitten. …

After wedding pictures at the Myrtle Beach State Park

Now that things have slowed down some, I’m going to try and go back and blog about some of my previous weddings and events.  This couple was married the day before and just wanted to do some portraits of the two of them.  The Myrtle Beach State Park is a great place for pictures because of the options, like the oak trees, the pier, and the nice dunes, all in the same location.  Also, it’s out of the Myrtle Beach city limits, so you don’t get in trouble for taking pictures there.  The only thing is, you have to be …

Wedding at Litchfield Plantation with a horse drawn carriage

This is the first wedding I’ve done at Litchfield Plantation.  It’s a very beautiful area. I always like the Litchfield / Pawleys Island area with all the moss-covered Oak trees.  It’s so pretty if you can get the light coming through the trees just right in the evening.  One of my favorite bridal portraits ever was down in this area.  Just in case you are not familiar, Litchfield is about 20 minutes south of Myrtle Beach, down business 17.  Many of the best spots, with beautiful trees, are away from the beach near the Intracoastal waterway.  I will post some …

Really cute family and senior pictures at the Myrtle Beach State Park

I just wanted to put up a quick post.  I’ve been loving some of my family pictures recently. Sometimes I will get a really big family with a lot of grumpy two year olds, you know how that can be at times.  But lately, I’ve had some of my favorite family pictures in a long time.  I also want to apologize for the delay in getting some family proofs ready for viewing, I’m really going to be working on getting them all up this next week. This month has just been hectic. I’m deciding to cut back some to make …

Bridal portraits in Pawleys Island, SC

A couple of weeks ago I was able to do some very pretty bridal portraits for a bride getting married this weekend.  We set everything up on just a few weeks notice but I had the weekend open and was glad I was able to fit them in.  This is a pretty unique location in a private home area a bit south of Pawleys Island, SC which is about 30 minutes south of the Myrtle Beach area.  The wedding planner knew one of the residents in the area and they allowed us to do some pictures around their home as …

Last wedding of the year at Wachesaw Plantation

It looks like this is going to be my last wedding of 2010. It was at a beautiful spot at the Wachesaw Plantation Club in Murrells Inlet, SC. I can’t believe another year is over already. This past year flew by. Now I get into my couple of really slow months that I look forward to when things are crazy in the summer, like three weddings on one hot weekend in June, but then I pretty quickly wish I was busy again. Well, now I can make sure I’ve got everything caught up from the year, I still have a …

Wedding in Litchfield on the Waccamaw River

Last week’s wedding was at such a pretty spot. It was a private home on the river in the Litchfield, Pawleys Island area, about 30 minutes south of Myrtle Beach.  It’s too bad this isn’t a regular spot for weddings, although the homeowner said he has had about 20 weddings with various family and friends.  I can certainly see why.  Everything went nice as well. There was the most beautiful sunset over the waterway. You can see below that many of my favorite pictures feature that sunset.  The only slight problem was during the ceremony, the bride’s face was in …
