Groom dipping back bride in front of barn - Wildberry Farm

Springtime country wedding at Wildberry Farm with an outdoor ceremony – Marion, SC

This was my second time photographing a country wedding at Wildberry Farm near Marion, SC. Since this wedding was in late spring, the flowers in the garden were blooming, and the grass and trees were all green. These were things I missed out on at my earlier winter wedding there.  Instead of having the ceremony inside the chapel, they set up the chairs and arbor on the lawn beside the lake. This was a really pretty spot for the ceremony, with a lot of nice shade from the trees. I didn’t even know there was a lake behind the chapel the …

Photographing a wedding at The Ivy Place in Lancaster, SC

The Ivy Place in Lancaster, SC, is the farthest I’ve traveled to photograph a wedding, a little over 3 hours each way. I was tired on the drive home, but it wasn’t a bad trip. It was biker week in Myrtle Beach, so I’m glad my wedding was out of the area. The Ivy Place is a lovely wedding location near Charlotte, and it reminds me of weddings I’ve done in Charleston and Brookgreen Gardens. Wedding party pictures after the ceremony -

Wedding ceremony at the Holliday Cottage gates in Brookgreen Gardens with a large bridal party

I met with some clients today who are having an upcoming wedding at the Brookgreen Gardens Holliday Cottage area. I’ve done many weddings at this location, so I was showing them my most recent one as an example, even though it was from last summer of 2012. I realized that I never posted about this wedding on my blog. I think it was just my busy time of the year and many weddings miss out on a storyboard. However, with this one, in particular, I realized I needed to put a post about it. I especially loved the picture of …

Beautiful portrait of bride and groom reflecting in the lake - Magnolia Plantation

First wedding at Magnolia Plantation in Charleston, SC

This was the first time I’ve been to the Magnolia Plantation area in Charleston for a wedding. I’ve done some engagement pictures here, but never a full wedding. The first time to a new site is always exciting, I do a lot of looking around trying to find some spots with good lighting and background details. We also had a golf cart driver that took us around to some popular spots. The young bride and groom had a beautiful ceremony in the gardens with a unique circular setup of the chairs for the ceremony. After the ceremony we went to …

Bridal portraits in Pawleys Island, SC

A couple of weeks ago I was able to do some very pretty bridal portraits for a bride getting married this weekend.  We set everything up on just a few weeks notice but I had the weekend open and was glad I was able to fit them in.  This is a pretty unique location in a private home area a bit south of Pawleys Island, SC which is about 30 minutes south of the Myrtle Beach area.  The wedding planner knew one of the residents in the area and they allowed us to do some pictures around their home as …
