Groomsmen and bridesmaids cheering for bride and groom while they kiss - Kaminski House Museum

Wedding on the lawn at the Kaminski House Museum in Georgetown, SC

This was my first time photographing a wedding at the historic Kaminski House Museum in Georgetown. This is located at the end of the Harborwalk on the Sampit River in Georgetown. This house was built back in the mid 1700’s by a wealthy SC merchant. Sometimes I forget what a long history Georgetown has. After many renovations and changes, this is a very beautiful area for a wedding ceremony. There are huge oaks and lots of foliage on the bank of the river that make a beautiful background for the ceremony and pictures after. Thankfully, Georgetown isn’t like it used …

Dip back for a kiss with streetlights in the background and lit by my studio lights - Conway Riverwalk

One year anniversary and bridal portraits at the Conway Riverwalk

It seems like I’ve had a lot of weddings and photo sessions recently at the Conway Riverwalk. It’s a beautiful alternative location for pictures if you want to get away from the beach. This couple got married about a year ago back in their hometown, but due to weather and other circumstances they weren’t happy with the pictures from their wedding. So while they were on their anniversary vacation in Myrtle Beach, the bride wanted to put back on her wedding dress and take some bridal portraits, as well as some romantic pictures with her husband. As I mentioned in …

Couple with beautiful waccamaw river in the background - Conway River Walk

Wedding at the new 104 Laurel Street event venue in Conway, SC

This is my first time doing a wedding at the newly renovated 104 Laurel Street event venue in Conway, SC. It’s located right near the south end of the Conway Riverwalk, very close to the old Peanut Warehouse. In fact, in this one weekend, I had a wedding at the Peanut Warehouse on Saturday, then on Sunday I had this wedding at 104 Laurel. For both weddings I took the couples down to the Riverwalk for some beautiful pictures. My thoughts on the 104 Laurel Street Event Venue 104 Laurel is a very pretty, rustic looking location for a wedding. …

Bride and groom kissing with blowing veil - Pelican Inn - Pawleys Island

Wedding at the Pawleys Island Chapel with a reception at the Pelican Inn

The Pelican Inn is a bed and breakfast built in the mid 1800s in the beautiful Pawleys Island, SC area. While the house itself is not very impressive looking from the outside, it’s in a perfect location between the salt marsh and beach, surrounded by old oak trees and greenery. It’s a very unique spot and I don’t know of any other wedding location in the area quite like it. The inside of the house has a very rustic look but is clean and air conditioned. The wedding decorations and guests tables are set up on the large porch surrounding …

Couple having fun with their dogs Vereen Memorial Gardens

Fun engagement portraits with the dogs at Vereen Memorial Gardens

This was my first time taking engagement portraits at the Vereen Memorial Historical Gardens in Little River, SC. This area has a lot of hiking trails and boardwalks over the salt marshes. It is located right next to the Intracoastal Waterway. This couple wanted to bring their two dogs to the engagement pictures so it’s great that the Vereen Memorial Gardens is very dog friendly, we saw a lot of people walking around with their pets. I wasn’t very familiar with this location, so we started out the session walking around a bit with the dogs and finding some great …

Kiss on a path through the forest - Reserve Harbor Yacht Club

Wedding at the Pawleys Island Chapel with a reception at the Reserve Harbor Yacht Club

This bride and groom, Mary and Shane, had a beautiful wedding ceremony at the Pawleys Island Chapel with a reception at the Reserve Harbor Yacht Club. They also had their two daughters featured as flower girls in the wedding. I had my assistant head over to take pictures with the groomsmen and I went to the home where the bride was getting ready on the inlet in Pawleys Island. This home was a beautiful location with a dock on the water. Because I didn’t have to take pictures with the groomsmen, it gave me an extra few minutes for flying …

Flowergirl helping the ring bearer with his tie - Pawleys Plantation

Pawleys Island wedding on the marsh with a reception at Pawleys Plantation

This beautiful wedding at a private home in Pawleys Island was a great way to start my busy spring season. A couple of weeks before the wedding I met the bride at her wedding location for some portraits. The marsh boardwalks in Pawleys are always a beautiful place for pictures. I always love getting to do bridal or engagement pictures before a wedding to get to know a client and to make sure they like my style. This bride seemed really happy so I figured she would like the wedding pictures and she really did. I don’t think she would …

She said yes - Myrtle Beach State Park

Surprise engagement proposal on a beautiful winter evening in Myrtle Beach

I always love the Myrtle Beach State Park at sunset in the winter. This time of the year the sky just seems clearer and the water is more blue. I don’t know if it’s perhaps the lower humidity or just the difference in the angle of the sunset. We had one of those perfect winter evenings for a surprise engagement proposal with this young couple. His girlfriend thought we were just doing pictures of the two of them for Valentine’s Day. From what she said later in the evening, she thought it would be a long while until he could …

Bride and groom kissing on a marsh walkway in Pawleys Island

Beautiful evening wedding at the Pawleys Island Chapel with reception in the Hammock Shops

I always love photographing weddings down near the inlet area of Pawleys Island. This wedding was small and relaxed without a large bridal party. The bride was getting ready at her parents home and the ceremony was at the small chapel on the marsh in Pawleys Island. The chapel is really nice because the big windows overlooking the marsh let in a lot of soft light that hits the couple during the ceremony. The only problem is because it’s so much brighter outside than inside it’s difficult to see the marsh through the windows in pictures. One of my favorite …

Couple walking down marsh boardwalk together at sunset

Fun engagement pictures in Garden City on a cold afternoon and Storyboard 3

I haven’t had a chance to blog about engagement portraits in a while. Things are getting slow so I thought I would post some pictures from this recent cold weather engagement session down at the southern tip of Garden City Beach. I’ve done many photo sessions down in Garden City, but this one was unusual because they live in a private neighborhood that I normally can’t photograph in. The southern end of Garden City is very pretty, it’s a short walk from the beach to the board walks that go out and over the marsh. It’s not very often I get to shoot …
