Veil blowing in the wind under the wedding arch in strong direct sun - Beach House in Pawleys Island

Intimate beach house wedding with a reception at The Village House in Litchfield

It’s been a while since I posted pictures from a beach house wedding on my blog, so I thought this recent intimate wedding in Pawleys Island would be a great opportunity. Kristi and Che had a beautiful beach house near the southern end of Pawleys Island at 492 Myrtle Ave. This house is unique, surrounded by dense trees and foliage pushing up against either side, and has beautiful shaded views from the porches and beach walkway. At this wedding, I was working with my favorite videographer, Jerry, from Luminous Event Films. They also had Ash Events for wedding planning and …

Dip back for a kiss with cheers from the wedding party - 21 Main Events - North Myrtle Beach

Wedding on the beach at 21 Main Events for new parents with their baby boy and a fun wedding party

During this slower time of the year, I love to go back to some of my favorite weddings of the previous year and share them on my blog. This October 15th wedding at 21 Main Events in North Myrtle Beach was very special to me. The bride, Michelle, is blind and has difficulty hearing. It was hard for me to realize that she would never be able to see the beautiful pictures we captured that day. When I arrived, they set me up with a microphone on my shirt to help. However, I found that if I was loud and …

Happy new family of 5 having fun together after the wedding ceremony - Dunes Golf & Beach Club

Wedding at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club with a happy new blended family

I always love when a wedding can bring together a happy new family. I was working on the wedding album for Marshall and Lindsey and thought this would be a great wedding to post to my blog. Their wedding was held last November 5th at one of my favorite venues, the Dunes Golf & Beach Club at the north end of Myrtle Beach. This is a beautiful location for a wedding, with a lawn overlooking the ocean for the ceremony, a large ballroom for the reception, and a great staff that I always enjoy working with. The weather wasn’t looking …

Throwing petals after the ceremony - Pawleys Island Beach House

Wedding at Pawleys Plantation with a ceremony on the beach in Pawleys Island

This time of the year, I love to look back at some beautiful weddings I didn’t have time to post on my blog. Elizabeth and Tyler were married last summer on May 29th. Their wedding was a little unusual for Pawleys Plantation. Instead of having the ceremony on the golf course, they wanted a wedding on the beach. So they rented a home on the beach in Pawleys Island and had a trolly take everyone back and forth from the beach. They even had their dog as the ring bearer during the ceremony, which I think is one reason they …

Kiss under the gazebo with the bridal party - 21 Main Events at North Beach

Beach ceremony at 21 Main Events in North Myrtle Beach with a fun bridal party

I’ve had ten weddings at 21 Main Events at North Beach so far this year. In fact, I had three in a row there last week! It’s a beautiful location with a great staff, so I’m happy with how often I get to shoot weddings there. I’ll try to post more when things slow down. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you can see pictures from more recent weddings at this venue. Fun pictures with the bridal party at the courtyard and gazebo My wife was assisting me as a second shooter at this wedding. Taylor, the groom, …

After dark pictures under the lights in the courtyard - 21 Main Events at North Beach

Wedding at 21 Main Events with a flower cannon and local celebrity visit

I’ve been shooting many weddings recently at 21 Main Events at North Beach. It’s becoming one of my favorite venues. I like the combination of the private courtyard for the ceremony, then the gazebo and beach for pictures at sunset. Plus, they have amazing food. My wife Lizeth came along as a second photographer for this wedding. I recommend a second shooter for weddings at 21 Main because she can take pictures on the balcony during the ceremony. When we arrived, Alexandra, the bride, wasn’t at the venue yet. However, her dress, flowers, and rings were already there. This gave …

Groom pushing back bride's hair for a kiss - North Beach Resort & Villas

Intimate wedding on the beach at the North Beach Resort & Villas

I’ve done many weddings and family portraits session on the beach behind the North Beach Resort (formerly North Beach Plantation) towers. These towers are located at the very south end of North Myrtle Beach across from Barefoot Landing. This wedding was unique for me, in that the reception was also held in the Blu Lounge inside the Indigo Tower. Most of my weddings at this location have their reception back at 21 Main Events. This reception in the Blu Lounge was still catered by the 21 Main Events staff, so of course the food and service was really good. First …

Couple sitting by the dunes with their dog ring bearer in tie -

Intimate wedding at Cherry Grove Point in North Myrtle Beach

I always love when I have a chance to post pictures from a wedding at a new location. I’ve actually done family pictures at the Point in Cherry Grove, but I’ve never shot a wedding ceremony there. This is a unique location in North Myrtle Beach where House Creek meets up with the ocean and there are lots of undulating natural dunes. So many areas of Myrtle Beach have the houses and hotels built so close to the ocean that we don’t get to see natural dunes like this. In the background there you can also see Hog Island and …

Bride and groom with their three leg doggie ring bearer - 21 Main Events at North Beach

Wedding at 21 Main Events with a cute dog ring-bearer and unusual sunset

21 Main Events at North Beach is becoming one of my most frequented wedding venues for photography. It’s a great combination of a sheltered courtyard area that keeps the guests out of the sun and wind. As well as a beautiful nearby gazebo and beach area. My wife Lizeth was assisting me as a second photographer at this wedding. She went up with the groomsmen to their suite above the main restaurant and got some great shots of them out on the balcony. I usually like to stay with the bride myself and take pictures of all her details. Such …

Family of three after the wedding - Folly Beach - Charleston

Intimate wedding with family at the Tides in Folly Beach, Charleston

Nicole and Adam found me through WeddingWire, back before we knew anything about Covid-19. They were having a small wedding ceremony on the beach, with just a few family and friends, on September 10th of 2020. This actually worked out perfectly, since most weddings in 2020 ended up being scaled back from the original plans. They were having a separate larger reception later on in NC. They only had me there to take pictures up until dinner time. I was actually glad to not have to stay late since I had another wedding in Charleston the very next day. This …
