Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club is one of my favorite locations that I photograph weddings at often. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the site is great for photography. There isn’t much I can say that I haven’t said in some of my earlier blog posts about the site. This wedding ceremony was in the early afternoon, so we had some harsh sunlight during the ceremony, but it wasn’t too bad. The golf course behind the clubhouse is a great place for a wedding and for pictures after, it is nice to do everything in the same area instead of having to travel. The wide-angle picture below of the club that looks a bit “photoshopped”, I was playing around some with HDR. Because the sun was so bright and I wanted to get some detail in the sky, I took multiple shots at different exposures and then combined them together. The idea is to capture some detail in the really bright parts of the image like the sky, while still seeing details in the shadows.
This couple wanted to do a first look where they see each other before the ceremony. We did a real one first inside the club, and then did another pretend first look outside just for a different look. The groom was a character, I think he over dramatized the first look a bit, but the pictures turned out really fun. They were great to work with and seemed to be having fun with everything. I especially liked some of the pictures of them close to sunset out on the golf course and in the little garden area sitting on the tree. I hope you enjoy some of the pictures below, please like this post or comment if you do.
