Groom pulling bride in for a kiss touching nose - The Village House at Litchfield

Spring wedding at The Village House in Litchfield

I was excited to photograph my first wedding at The Village House in the Litchfield / Pawleys Island area. I’ve previously photographed an event there and even created a 360 virtual walkthrough for the venue, but it was great to be back for a wedding. I knew from my past visit that The Village House has amazing large windows in the ballroom. After capturing some shots of the bride’s details and macro photos of the rings on the flowers, I moved the dresses to the ballroom windows to take advantage of the beautiful light pouring in from the outside. The …

Happy new family of 5 having fun together after the wedding ceremony - Dunes Golf & Beach Club

Wedding at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club with a happy new blended family

I always love when a wedding can bring together a happy new family. I was working on the wedding album for Marshall and Lindsey and thought this would be a great wedding to post to my blog. Their wedding was held last November 5th at one of my favorite venues, the Dunes Golf & Beach Club at the north end of Myrtle Beach. This is a beautiful location for a wedding, with a lawn overlooking the ocean for the ceremony, a large ballroom for the reception, and a great staff that I always enjoy working with. The weather wasn’t looking …

Portraits with the bride and groom in front of the old truck - The Blessed Barn

Fall wedding under the oak at The Blessed Barn in Aynor, SC

I had the opportunity to photograph my first wedding at The Blessed Barn venue in Aynor, SC, which is a 40-minute drive inland from Myrtle Beach. This elegant farm venue has two spacious reception halls separated by a concrete patio used as the dance floor area. It also has two separate dressing rooms for the bride and groom to get ready with their family. I always like it when I can tell a venue has been designed specifically for weddings. Upon arriving, I met with Melissa, the wedding coordinator at the Blessed Barn, who was kind enough to show me …

Ceremony under the arches - The Venue at White Oaks Farm

Spring wedding at The Venue at White Oaks Farm

This beautiful April 23rd wedding at The Venue at White Oaks Farm was a great start to the busiest part of my wedding season. Being a new venue, this is only my second wedding at this location. My last wedding there was in winter, so it’s nice to be back when the grass and trees are turning green. Christina, the bride, had chosen my all-day wedding package, so she had both my wife and myself for photography as well as my photo booth. I was also working with Shari of Coastal Charm Weddings, one of my favorite wedding planners. Pajama …

Portrait in front of the marsh - Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club

Bridal portraits on the golf course at Pawleys Plantation

I recently photographed the wedding of April and Zach at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club. They were such a happy and fun couple. You can check out a sneak peek of their wedding on my Facebook page. She had a beautiful canvas print of one of these bridal portraits at the wedding, and it reminded me that I could post some of her pictures now that everyone had seen the dress. It’s a lot of fun taking bridal portraits at Pawleys Plantation. I’ve shot so many weddings there, I know the best spots depending on the time of the …

Groom leaning back bride for a kiss by the lake - Kingston Plantation Myrtle Beach

Springtime wedding on the lawn at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort

The Hilton Resort in Myrtle Beach is always a great place to photograph a wedding. It’s been a little over a year since my last wedding at the Hilton. That previous wedding was on the beach sand instead of the lawn so if you are interested in fun beach pictures at the Hilton check out last year’s wedding. The ceremony for this latest wedding was held on the lawn behind the Hilton Resort next to the gazebo. This is a very pretty area and there is always some nice shade from the hotel towers even a little earlier in the …

Couple kissing on the fallen tree

Pawleys Plantation wedding with a Beauty and the Beast themed reception

I always love going to Pawleys Plantation Golf Club for a wedding. It’s a beautiful area, and the staff there is very friendly. I loved the bride’s dress at this wedding. She had a Beauty and the Beast Disney theme for the dress and wedding reception. You can see some pictures of the ballroom decorations below. I recently got a new 14mm prime lens, so I enjoyed playing around with some wide-angle shots of the reception decorations. Looking through the lens, it was so wide that I realized I was almost sticking my camera in the cake. It’s not the …

Bridal portraits at Pawleys Plantation and the Conway River Walk

I don’t typically do as many bridal portraits as other types of photography.  Many people prefer to do engagement pictures with me and do some bridal style pictures at the wedding.  But it’s always a lot of fun when I get to. This is one of the best kinds of photography you can do, a bride all dressed up for a wedding, without the stress and limited time of the wedding itself.  It’s pretty hard to go wrong as long as you have a pretty location to work with. I thought I would post just a few pictures from recent …
