Springtime wedding on the lawn at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort

The Hilton Resort in Myrtle Beach is always a great place to photograph a wedding. It’s been a little over a year since my last wedding at the Hilton. That previous wedding was on the beach sand instead of the lawn so if you are interested in fun beach pictures at the Hilton check out last year’s wedding. The ceremony for this latest wedding was held on the lawn behind the Hilton Resort next to the gazebo. This is a very pretty area and there is always some nice shade from the hotel towers even a little earlier in the day.

I started off the day meeting the bride and bridesmaids for some pictures in their room before the ceremony. The bride had a beautiful ballgown style wedding dress with a lot of intricate beading. That style of dress is always great for pictures. Sadly there wasn’t a nice window or doorway in the bride’s room. I couldn’t do some of the shots I love like the bride from behind silhouetted in the sunlight, but we still got plenty of fun pictures.

After the ceremony we were limited on time and the bride wasn’t really interested in pictures on the beach sand. There is a small bridge over the lake in Kingston Plantation that was special to the bride and groom so they wanted to make sure we had time to go there. We just did a few pictures on the lawn behind the Hilton then I drove us in a golf cart to the bridge for pictures. After the bride and groom were tired and ready to get back to the party, I spotted a small nearby bench on the edge of the lake. I’m glad I persuaded them to do a few more pictures because some of my favorite shots are of them sitting together on this lakeside bench.

The reception was held in the Ballroom on the top floor of the Hilton towers. They only had me stay for a couple hours of the reception but it was enough time to take pictures of the cake cutting, toasts and lots of dancing. I hope you enjoy the pictures, I have a whole blog category for Hilton weddings so please check some others out as well.
