Lifting veil into the air - Pawleys Plantation

Beautiful spring wedding at Pawleys Plantation

It’s great to be back in the busy wedding season for 2024. I haven’t posted a wedding from Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club in a while, even though it’s one of my most frequent wedding locations in Pawleys Island. I thought it was time I added a new post, as there have been a lot of changes to the landscaping around the clubhouse, and I always love the beautiful pictures on the golf course. We had a gorgeous day with perfect weather for this April 5th wedding with Taylor & Austin. I knew they would be a fun couple. …

Groom pulling bride in for a kiss touching nose - The Village House at Litchfield

Spring wedding at The Village House in Litchfield

I was excited to photograph my first wedding at The Village House in the Litchfield / Pawleys Island area. I’ve previously photographed an event there and even created a 360 virtual walkthrough for the venue, but it was great to be back for a wedding. I knew from my past visit that The Village House has amazing large windows in the ballroom. After capturing some shots of the bride’s details and macro photos of the rings on the flowers, I moved the dresses to the ballroom windows to take advantage of the beautiful light pouring in from the outside. The …

Romance in front of the horses - Wildhorse at Parker Farms

Wedding at WildHorse at Parker Farms with horses and a beautiful sunset

Photographing weddings at some of the beautiful farm locations we have a little inland from Myrtle Beach is always a nice change of pace for me. Wildhorse at Parker Farms is a very unique venue located in Longs, SC, and it’s about a 30-minute trip from Myrtle Beach. I’ve only shot one other wedding at Parker Farms back in April of 2020. This wedding was in the middle of social distancing, and many guests couldn’t attend, so it was great to be back with everything back to normal. When I arrived at the venue, the bridesmaids hadn’t yet arrived, so …

Ceremony under the arches - The Venue at White Oaks Farm

Spring wedding at The Venue at White Oaks Farm

This beautiful April 23rd wedding at The Venue at White Oaks Farm was a great start to the busiest part of my wedding season. Being a new venue, this is only my second wedding at this location. My last wedding there was in winter, so it’s nice to be back when the grass and trees are turning green. Christina, the bride, had chosen my all-day wedding package, so she had both my wife and myself for photography as well as my photo booth. I was also working with Shari of Coastal Charm Weddings, one of my favorite wedding planners. Pajama …

Kiss backlit by the sunset - Caledonia Golf & Fish Club

Windy wedding day at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawleys Island

I’ve often been to Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawleys Island for engagement and family pictures. It’s a beautiful location with lots of centuries live oak trees covered in moss near the Waccamaw River. This day was my first time photographing an actual wedding at this venue, so I was excited about it. It was also great working again with Michelle from Stunning and Brilliant Events. For some reason, this particular Saturday, April 9th, was one of the coldest and windiest days in Myrtle Beach for months. With the wedding and reception both outside, I was a little worried …

Touching foreheads in front of the ocean - Pawleys Island

Rainy wedding day at Pawleys Plantation with a first look on the beach

First look on the beach in Pawleys Island Lauren was so excited about the pictures for her December wedding. When checking the weather a couple of days before, it was forecast to rain all day. She asked me if it would be possible to do a first look with Daniel, her fiance, and some pictures on the beach in Pawleys Island before the wedding. I had the day open, so I was happy to do it. I’m glad we were able to do this. It ended up being a beautiful evening on the beach. It even gave me a chance …

Bride and groom with classic car at night - Dunes Golf and Beach Club

Fall wedding at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club with a large bridal party and lots of dancing

I had a great time photographing Ashley and Dustin’s fun wedding at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach. This wedding was one of those that got a little wild later in the evening. Everyone had a blast on the dance floor and in the photo booth. I actually shot Ashley’s brother’s wedding back in 2017 at the Grande Dunes Members Club. They had a great dance party at their wedding as well. The Dunes Golf and Beach Club is a unique location for a wedding. I can’t think of anywhere nearby with both the beach and golf …

Groomsmen and bridesmaids cheering for bride and groom while they kiss - Kaminski House Museum

Wedding at the Kaminski House Museum in Georgetown, SC

This was my first time photographing a wedding at the historic Kaminski House Museum in Georgetown. This is located at the end of the Harborwalk on the Sampit River in Georgetown. This house was built back in the mid 1700’s by a wealthy SC merchant. Sometimes I forget what a long history Georgetown has. After many renovations and changes, this is a very beautiful area for a wedding ceremony. There are huge oaks and lots of foliage on the bank of the river that make a beautiful background for the ceremony and pictures after. Thankfully, Georgetown isn’t like it used …

First ever wedding on the front lawn Pawleys Plantation

First wedding ever on the front lawn of Pawleys Plantation

I photographed a beautiful wedding ceremony on the front lawn of Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club in Pawleys Island, SC. This was the first time Pawleys Plantation held a wedding in front of the clubhouse. Typically the weddings are held on the back lawn overlooking the golf course. The bride needed the wedding in the front to ride a horse-drawn carriage with her father right up to the ceremony location. I always love working with Heritage Carriages, I’ve done many weddings with them, and it always turns out beautiful. The front lawn turned out to be an excellent spot …

Sunset kiss by the palm trees - Doubletree Resort by Hilton Myrtle Beach

Winter wedding at the Doubletree Resort in Myrtle Beach

This was my first time photographing a wedding at the Doubletree Resort by Hilton since it changed owners. They have recently done some remodeling that makes it a much nicer location for weddings then when it was the Springmaid Resort.  The large room where receptions are held still has the look of a conference center with fluorescent type lighting. But with some extra decorations and lighting it looks quite nice, and it’s a very large area with a big dance floor that can fit many guests. There is also a pretty terrace area that overlooks the ocean where the guests can …
