Mom and dad with their 4 girls and dog on the beach - Ocean Isle Beach

My favorite Myrtle Beach family photography from 2022

I can’t believe another year is already over. I’m heading into my 15th year of full-time photography in the Myrtle Beach area. Time sure does fly by. I always post pictures from my favorite family photo sessions on Instagram and Facebook throughout the year. When things slow down, it’s nice to look back and add some favorite photos to my blog. 2022 was a busy year. Looking back, I shot about 87,000 pictures over the year at almost 150 weddings, engagements, and family portrait sessions. I’m very thankful to all the happy clients that chose to use me to capture their special memories in …

Brother with his sisters and dogs - Huntington Beach State Park

My favorite Myrtle Beach family pictures from the first half of 2021

2021 has been one of my busiest years ever with family pictures in Myrtle Beach. I’ve been referring so many people to my photography friends, but most of them are booked up as well. After last year, everyone is ready to get out of the house and have some fun on the beach. I really hope Myrtle Beach can keep this up and we have a great next year as well! During my busy summer season, I’m taking family portraits almost every day, in lots of different locations around the Myrtle Beach area. While I can’t post pictures from every …

Engagement pictures with the dogs - Myrtle Beach State Park

2020 romance in Myrtle Beach – Favorite engagement pictures of the year

Covid-19 has messed up a lot of plans this year. But it didn’t stop many determined couples from getting engaged in Myrtle Beach during 2020. As things get busy during the summer, I don’t have as much time for posting to my blog. So I thought I would make a quick, end of the year, blog post highlighting a number of different Myrtle Beach area engagement sessions. You can also check out a couple of pre-lockdown engagement session from last Spring here. I had a variety of different, already engaged couples, coming to the Myrtle Beach area for pictures. As …

Family of 4 sitting by the dunes - Huntington Beach State Park

Busy 2020 with family pictures in Myrtle Beach

In April and May of this year, I was getting worried because of weddings canceling or rescheduling due to the Covid-19 restrictions. As soon as we got into the summer vacation season and some of the beach closures were lifted, things quickly changed. I think everyone was ready to leave the house and have some fun. I ended up having one of my busiest summers for family and engagement photo sessions that I can remember. At least with family beach pictures, it’s easy to social distance. I’m dealing with family groups that are already together, we are outdoors, and I …

Couple having fun with their dogs Vereen Memorial Gardens

Fun engagement portraits with the dogs at Vereen Memorial Gardens

This was my first time taking engagement portraits at the Vereen Memorial Historical Gardens in Little River, SC. This area has a lot of hiking trails and boardwalks over the salt marshes. It is located right next to the Intracoastal Waterway. This couple wanted to bring their two dogs to the engagement pictures so it’s great that the Vereen Memorial Gardens is very dog friendly, we saw a lot of people walking around with their pets. I wasn’t very familiar with this location, so we started out the session walking around a bit with the dogs and finding some great …

Couple walking down marsh boardwalk together at sunset

Fun engagement pictures in Garden City on a cold afternoon and Storyboard 3

I haven’t had a chance to blog about engagement portraits recently. Things are getting slow, so I thought I would post pictures from this recent cold weather engagement session down at the southern tip of Garden City Beach. I’ve done many photo sessions in Garden City, but this one was unusual because they live in a private neighborhood where I usually can’t photograph. The southern end of Garden City is beautiful. It’s a short walk from the beach to the boardwalks that go out and over the marsh. I rarely get to shoot on a marsh walkway because most of these are privately …
