Busy 2020 with family pictures in Myrtle Beach

In April and May of this year, I was getting worried because of weddings canceling or rescheduling due to the Covid-19 restrictions. As soon as we got into the summer vacation season and some of the beach closures were lifted, things quickly changed. I think everyone was ready to leave the house and have some fun. I ended up having one of my busiest summers for family and engagement photo sessions that I can remember. At least with family beach pictures, it’s easy to social distance. I’m dealing with family groups that are already together, we are outdoors, and I don’t need to get too close to take the pictures.

I thought I would make a quick blog post with some of my favorite sunset family photo sessions as well as some senior portraits over the summer and into the fall/winter of 2020. Most of these pictures are from the Myrtle Beach and Huntington Beach State Parks. We had a few really windy days, and a couple of families chose to do their pictures at the Conway River Walk, which is a great alternative if you want to get away from the beach. If you see a castle area and really pretty dunes in the pictures below, those are from the Huntington Beach State Park. However, if you see a pier in the background, that is likely the Myrtle Beach State Park. I will list the locations in the titles of the pictures below, so if you are planning a family photo session in Myrtle Beach, it might help you decide where you would like to do them.

I hope you enjoy the pictures. It seemed like I had a lot of families and couples this year bring their dogs along for the pictures as well, which I always love. If you are thinking about having your own family photos at sunset, a romantic engagement session or surprise proposal, or high school senior portraits, please let me know. I would be happy to give you more information.
