Busy summer of 2020 with family pictures in Myrtle Beach

In April and May of this year, I was getting worried, because of weddings cancelling or rescheduling due to the Covid-19 restrictions. As soon as we got into the summer vacation season, and some of the beach closures were lifted, things quickly changed. I think everyone was ready to leave the house and have some fun. I ended up having one of my busiest summers for family and engagement photo sessions that I can remember. At least with family beach pictures, it’s easy to social distance. I’m dealing with family groups that are already together, we are outdoors, and I don’t need to get too close to take the pictures.

I thought I would make a quick blog post with some of my favorite sunset family photo sessions as well as some engagement and senior portraits over the summer of 2020. Most of these pictures are from the Myrtle Beach and Huntington Beach State Parks. We had a few really windy days and a couple of families chose to do their pictures at the Conway River Walk, which is a great alternative if you want to get away from the beach. If you see a castle area and really pretty dunes in the pictures below, those are from the Huntington Beach State Park. However, if you see a pier in the background, that is likely the Myrtle Beach State Park. I will list the locations in the titles of the pictures below, so if you are planning a family photo session in Myrtle Beach, it might help you decide where you would like to do them.

I hope you enjoy the pictures. It seemed like I had a lot of families and couples this year brought their dogs along for the pictures as well, which I always love. If you are thinking about having your own family photos at sunset, a romantic engagement session or surprise proposal, or high school senior portraits, please let me know I would be happy to give you more information.
