Groom pulling bride in for a kiss touching nose - The Village House at Litchfield

Spring wedding at The Village House in Litchfield

I was excited to photograph my first wedding at The Village House in the Litchfield / Pawleys Island area. I’ve previously photographed an event there and even created a 360 virtual walkthrough for the venue, but it was great to be back for a wedding. I knew from my past visit that The Village House has amazing large windows in the ballroom. After capturing some shots of the bride’s details and macro photos of the rings on the flowers, I moved the dresses to the ballroom windows to take advantage of the beautiful light pouring in from the outside. The …

Touching noses - Oak Allee - Night of a Thousand Candles - Brookgreen Gardens

Brookgreen Gardens wedding on the Night of a Thousand Candles

I always love photographing weddings at Brookgreen Gardens. However, I’ve never had the opportunity to shoot a wedding during the Night of a Thousand Candles. During these special evenings in December, thousands of lights hang from the trees, and hand-lit candles light the paths and pools around the gardens. It’s a beautiful time to be in Brookgreen. We were fortunate enough to have a private moment after the wedding ceremony to capture some breathtaking photos of Riley and Hunter, the bride and groom, under the lights before the gardens opened to the public. Getting ready pictures in the Holliday Cottage …

Portraits with the bride and groom in front of the old truck - The Blessed Barn

Fall wedding under the oak at The Blessed Barn in Aynor, SC

I had the opportunity to photograph my first wedding at The Blessed Barn venue in Aynor, SC, which is a 40-minute drive inland from Myrtle Beach. This elegant farm venue has two spacious reception halls separated by a concrete patio used as the dance floor area. It also has two separate dressing rooms for the bride and groom to get ready with their family. I always like it when I can tell a venue has been designed specifically for weddings. Upon arriving, I met with Melissa, the wedding coordinator at the Blessed Barn, who was kind enough to show me …

Big smiles under the mossy oaks - Safe Harbor Reserve Harbor Yacht Club

Wedding under the moss covered oaks at the Reserve Harbor Marina Clubhouse

It’s been a couple of years since I’ve photographed a wedding at what used to be called the Reserve Harbor Yacht Club in Pawleys Island. It seems like they have changed their name. It’s now the Safe Harbor Reserve Harbor Marina Clubhouse. This location highlights the beauty of the Pawleys Island area, with the ancient oak trees covered in moss and a boardwalk through the forest that goes out onto the Waccamaw River. I love these Pawleys Island scenic spots where you can get that warm glow of the sunset filtering through the mossy trees in the background. Hurricane Ian …

Kiss with the sunset on the marsh - Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club

Pawleys Plantation wedding with beautiful flowers, a trolly, and a great sunset on the golf course

I’ve been busy with weddings at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club this May. This beautiful Friday afternoon was my second of five weddings at this location in the past month. We had some near-record heat for May, but it cooled down later in the day, and everyone still had a great time. Jessie from Willow Events had flowers, invitations, and other jewelry collected for detail shots when I arrived. I always recommend that brides make a collection of their details before the wedding, and I can take those pictures quickly. Since Willow Events is also a florist, there was …

Kiss with the sparkler fountains - 21 Main Events at North Beach

Intimate wedding at 21 Main Events with a reception in the courtyard

2022 has already been a busy year with several beautiful weddings. In fact, this was my first of two weddings in a row at 21 Main Events at North Beach. Since this was a smaller, more intimate event, they had the courtyard set up for the reception instead of the main ballroom. I arrived a little before the bride, so I began with detail shots of the table decorations, wedding decor, and the bride’s dress that I found was already there. The groom’s daughter was the only bridesmaid at the wedding. I got many cute shots of them getting ready …

Bride and groom with classic car at night - Dunes Golf and Beach Club

Fall wedding at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club with a large bridal party and lots of dancing

I had a great time photographing Ashley and Dustin’s fun wedding at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach. This wedding was one of those that got a little wild later in the evening. Everyone had a blast on the dance floor and in the photo booth. I actually shot Ashley’s brother’s wedding back in 2017 at the Grande Dunes Members Club. They had a great dance party at their wedding as well. The Dunes Golf and Beach Club is a unique location for a wedding. I can’t think of anywhere nearby with both the beach and golf …

Groomsmen and bridesmaids cheering for bride and groom while they kiss - Kaminski House Museum

Wedding at the Kaminski House Museum in Georgetown, SC

This was my first time photographing a wedding at the historic Kaminski House Museum in Georgetown. This is located at the end of the Harborwalk on the Sampit River in Georgetown. This house was built back in the mid 1700’s by a wealthy SC merchant. Sometimes I forget what a long history Georgetown has. After many renovations and changes, this is a very beautiful area for a wedding ceremony. There are huge oaks and lots of foliage on the bank of the river that make a beautiful background for the ceremony and pictures after. Thankfully, Georgetown isn’t like it used …

Groom pushing back bride's hair for a kiss - North Beach Resort & Villas

Intimate wedding on the beach at the North Beach Resort & Villas

I’ve done many weddings and family portraits session on the beach behind the North Beach Resort (formerly North Beach Plantation) towers. These towers are located at the very south end of North Myrtle Beach across from Barefoot Landing. This wedding was unique for me, in that the reception was also held in the Blu Lounge inside the Indigo Tower. Most of my weddings at this location have their reception back at 21 Main Events. This reception in the Blu Lounge was still catered by the 21 Main Events staff, so of course the food and service was really good. First …
