Portrait in front of the marsh - Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club

Bridal portraits on the golf course at Pawleys Plantation

I recently photographed the wedding of April and Zach at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club. They were such a happy and fun couple. You can check out a sneak peek of their wedding on my Facebook page. She had a beautiful canvas print of one of these bridal portraits at the wedding, and it reminded me that I could post some of her pictures now that everyone had seen the dress. It’s a lot of fun taking bridal portraits at Pawleys Plantation. I’ve shot so many weddings there, I know the best spots depending on the time of the …

Bride and groom looking at each other framed by a old oak in the background - Pawleys Plantation

Beautiful sunset on the golf course at Pawleys Plantation

I always love Fall weddings at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club. It’s so lovely this time of year without the heat and humidity. Matthew and Taylor were a fun and relaxed wedding couple with a small bridal party of the groom’s brothers and the bride’s sister. They had my photo booth at this wedding, so I arrived about an hour early to help my wife set everything up. They had a custom backdrop with a wood lattice and some beautiful foliage. I ended up hanging my gold backdrop behind the lattice; this hid the wall in the background and …

Bride walking down the downtown street with bridesmaids - Charleston, SC

Wedding in downtown Charleston with a reception at the Daniel Island Club

Since it’s my slow time of the year, I’ve been updating my website, especially for some of my past weddings in Charleston. This beautiful wedding from back in 2013 needed an updated blog post. I added some ceremony pictures that were missing and made some extra adjustments as well. I looked at the photo metadata to see what equipment I used back then. These were all taken with a Nikon D3 and Nikon D800, and I’m still using the same Nikon 85mm f1.4 lens I used back then. So the main difference between my photography now and back then, my …

HDR picture of beautiful ceremony location on the Wacammaw River - Kimbel's - Wachesaw Plantation

Beautiful riverfront wedding at the Kimbels in Wachesaw Plantation

It’s great to finish out the 2020 season with some amazing weddings. Even though the weddings have been a little smaller this year because of Covid, I’ve still had some of my favorites ever. The Kimbels restaurant in Wachesaw Plantation is one of the most beautiful locations in the Myrtle Beach area. Especially if you are looking for trees and moss instead of the beach. The Kimbels ceremony location, overlooking the Waccamaw River, is a beautiful spot for portraits at sunset. There is also a picturesque oak allee surrounded by large moss covered live oak trees on either side. When …

Couple with beautiful waccamaw river in the background - Conway River Walk

Wedding at the new 104 Laurel Street event venue in Conway, SC

This is my first time doing a wedding at the newly renovated 104 Laurel Street event venue in Conway, SC. It’s located right near the south end of the Conway Riverwalk, very close to the old Peanut Warehouse. In fact, in this one weekend, I had a wedding at the Peanut Warehouse on Saturday, then on Sunday I had this wedding at 104 Laurel. For both weddings I took the couples down to the Riverwalk for some beautiful pictures. My thoughts on the 104 Laurel Street Event Venue 104 Laurel is a very pretty, rustic looking location for a wedding. …

Bride on the train tracks - Conway River Walk

Bridal portraits on the Conway River and new Garden walks with the Nikon D850

I always love doing bridal portraits in the Conway Riverwalk area. After a busy summer of family beach pictures, I get a little tired of taking pictures on the sand. They have been doing construction work on the old Conway Main Street Bridge over a year now, but it now seems almost complete. The workers have repainted the bottom of the bridge a nice shade of green, and it looks great in the background of boardwalk pictures. The only problem is the riverwalk is still split into two sections by the construction, you can’t walk from the north end all …

Dusk at the Ocean Club - Grande Dunes Ocean Club - Myrtle Beach

Laci and Justin’s May wedding on the Ocean Club Balcony with a emotional first look

I had a very busy May this year with four weddings at The Ocean Club in the Grande Dunes. I already featured the first of my May weddings in a blog post here. I talked about some new flash equipment and my photo booth, so please check it out. Laci and Justin’s wedding was held on an unusually hot day for the month of May. Thankfully, down by the ocean, you almost always get a nice breeze. I started out with my usual pictures of all the dresses hanging in the beautiful windows upstairs in the clubhouse. I also got …

Bride with veil flowing behind her Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club

Bridal portraits at Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club

I was just completing the wedding album for Sarah and Jeff, the bride and groom from a beautiful wedding this past October 27th. I remembered that I never posted pictures from Sarah’s bridal portrait session from about a month before the wedding. These bridal portraits were taken at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club, the same location as their wedding. Pawleys Plantation is one of my favorite venues for photography, you can read more about this location in my featured blog category here. I started out taking pictures of the bride in front of the clubhouse. I always love the …

Kiss in the garden flowers - Wildberry Farm

Summertime wedding at Wildberry Farm

Now that the busy season is over I’m going to post pictures from some of my weddings from earlier in the year. I always love going to Wildberry Farm in Marion, SC for weddings. Especially when the garden flowers are in bloom. I remember this wedding especially because it was one of the hottest days of the summer, and there wasn’t any breeze at all! The wedding was outdoors by the lake, which is a beautiful location, however everyone was really suffering from the heat. I remember the bride’s mother telling me that sadly her father had just recently passed …

Bride and groom from Colombia by the ocean with a pretty sunset - Grande Dunes Ocean Club

Beautiful Ocean Club wedding with a bride and groom from Colombia

I really enjoyed this recent wedding for Camilio and Natalia at the Grande Dunes Ocean Club in Myrtle Beach. The bride and groom are both originally from the country of Colombia just like my wife. In fact the groom was from the city of Bogota, the same city my wife is from. I spent a month last year staying with my wife’s family in Bogota, I made a recent blog post about my trip here. In fact, if you visit my Photo Booth at a wedding, I have a real Colombian sombrero and poncho you can try on that I …
