Romantic portraits in the beautiful courtyard foliage of the bride and groom - 21 Main Events

Beautiful courtyard pictures at 21 Main Events in Myrtle Beach

It’s almost time again for the busy season in Myrtle Beach, so I wanted to make one last blog post about a unique wedding last summer. This wedding was on July 3rd, 2022, at my favorite wedding venue, 21 Main Events at North Beach. This wedding was unusual in that we did everything in the courtyard. I usually take at least the bride and groom down to the closeby gazebo and beach, if not the whole wedding party. Because of the circumstances and timing of this wedding, we only took pictures in the courtyard. This gave me an even better …

Portraits with the bride and groom in front of the old truck - The Blessed Barn

Fall wedding under the oak at The Blessed Barn in Aynor, SC

I had the opportunity to photograph my first wedding at The Blessed Barn venue in Aynor, SC, which is a 40-minute drive inland from Myrtle Beach. This elegant farm venue has two spacious reception halls separated by a concrete patio used as the dance floor area. It also has two separate dressing rooms for the bride and groom to get ready with their family. I always like it when I can tell a venue has been designed specifically for weddings. Upon arriving, I met with Melissa, the wedding coordinator at the Blessed Barn, who was kind enough to show me …

Kiss on the cheek - The Venue at White Oaks Farm

Fall wedding at The Venue at White Oaks Farm

It was great to be back for another wedding at The Venue at White Oaks Farm. You can check out a couple of my previous posts here and here, discussing some of this venue’s benefits. I especially like the clean white look of the interior and the purpose-built rooms for the bride and groom preparations.  The Venue at White Oaks Farm has made a few upgrades since the last time I was there. There is now a concrete patio under the ceremony location’s arches and a paved pathway leading from the reception hall. This would be helpful if the lawn were wet and …

Ceremony under the arches - The Venue at White Oaks Farm

Spring wedding at The Venue at White Oaks Farm

This beautiful April 23rd wedding at The Venue at White Oaks Farm was a great start to the busiest part of my wedding season. Being a new venue, this is only my second wedding at this location. My last wedding there was in winter, so it’s nice to be back when the grass and trees are turning green. Christina, the bride, had chosen my all-day wedding package, so she had both my wife and myself for photography as well as my photo booth. I was also working with Shari of Coastal Charm Weddings, one of my favorite wedding planners. Pajama …

Touching foreheads in front of the ocean - Pawleys Island

Rainy wedding day at Pawleys Plantation with a first look on the beach

First look on the beach in Pawleys Island Lauren was so excited about the pictures for her December wedding. When checking the weather a couple of days before, it was forecast to rain all day. She asked me if it would be possible to do a first look with Daniel, her fiance, and some pictures on the beach in Pawleys Island before the wedding. I had the day open, so I was happy to do it. I’m glad we were able to do this. It ended up being a beautiful evening on the beach. It even gave me a chance …

Bride and groom looking at each other framed by a old oak in the background - Pawleys Plantation

Beautiful sunset on the golf course at Pawleys Plantation

I always love Fall weddings at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club. It’s so lovely this time of year without the heat and humidity. Matthew and Taylor were a fun and relaxed wedding couple with a small bridal party of the groom’s brothers and the bride’s sister. They had my photo booth at this wedding, so I arrived about an hour early to help my wife set everything up. They had a custom backdrop with a wood lattice and some beautiful foliage. I ended up hanging my gold backdrop behind the lattice; this hid the wall in the background and …

Bride and groom with classic car at night - Dunes Golf and Beach Club

Fall wedding at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club with a large bridal party and lots of dancing

I had a great time photographing Ashley and Dustin’s fun wedding at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach. This wedding was one of those that got a little wild later in the evening. Everyone had a blast on the dance floor and in the photo booth. I actually shot Ashley’s brother’s wedding back in 2017 at the Grande Dunes Members Club. They had a great dance party at their wedding as well. The Dunes Golf and Beach Club is a unique location for a wedding. I can’t think of anywhere nearby with both the beach and golf …

After dark pictures under the lights in the courtyard - 21 Main Events at North Beach

Wedding at 21 Main Events with a flower cannon and local celebrity visit

I’ve been shooting many weddings recently at 21 Main Events at North Beach. It’s becoming one of my favorite venues. I like the combination of the private courtyard for the ceremony, then the gazebo and beach for pictures at sunset. Plus, they have amazing food. My wife Lizeth came along as a second photographer for this wedding. I recommend a second shooter for weddings at 21 Main because she can take pictures on the balcony during the ceremony. When we arrived, Alexandra, the bride, wasn’t at the venue yet. However, her dress, flowers, and rings were already there. This gave …

Bride and groom with their three leg doggie ring bearer - 21 Main Events at North Beach

Wedding at 21 Main Events with a cute dog ring-bearer and unusual sunset

21 Main Events at North Beach is becoming one of my most frequented wedding venues for photography. It’s a great combination of a sheltered courtyard area that keeps the guests out of the sun and wind. As well as a beautiful nearby gazebo and beach area. My wife Lizeth was assisting me as a second photographer at this wedding. She went up with the groomsmen to their suite above the main restaurant and got some great shots of them out on the balcony. I usually like to stay with the bride myself and take pictures of all her details. Such …

Portraits of bride and groom on the red bridge - Magnolia Plantation - Charleston, SC

Summer wedding at the Magnolia Plantation Carriage House in Charleston

It been a few years since I had a wedding at the Carriage House at Magnolia Plantation in Charleston, SC. It was great to be back for the wedding of Taylor and James on September 12, 2020. The Carriage House is a beautiful venue surrounded by live oak trees on the Ashley River. The ceremony area is setup on a huge lawn facing the Ashley River and in front of a huge old oak tree covered in moss. It’s also a short walk to the main gardens area, with lots of fantastic locations for photos. When I arrived, I met …
