Bride and groom with rim light from the sunset on the gazebo - The Pavilion at Pepper Plantation

Summer wedding at The Pavilion at Pepper Plantation in Charleston, SC

I always like to make a blog post when I photograph a wedding at a new location. This was my first time visiting The Pavilion at Pepper Plantation near Charleston, SC. This lovely venue has a large, rustic barn-style reception hall with hanging lights, exposed wooden beams on the vaulted ceiling, and wood planks on the ceiling and walls. It also has a large lawn and fence overlooking a lake and fountain. A boardwalk leads out to a large gazebo on the lake. It was a great place for sunset pictures after the ceremony. Groom pulling bride in for a kiss touching nose - The Village House at Litchfield

Spring wedding at The Village House in Litchfield

I was excited to photograph my first wedding at The Village House in the Litchfield / Pawleys Island area. I’ve previously photographed an event there and even created a 360 virtual walkthrough for the venue, but it was great to be back for a wedding. Fall wedding under the oak at The Blessed Barn in Aynor, SC

This elegant farm venue has two spacious reception halls separated by a concrete patio used as the dance floor area. It also has two separate dressing rooms for the bride and groom to get ready with their family. I always like it when I can tell a venue has been designed specifically for weddings. Upon arriving, I met with Melissa, the wedding coordinator at the Blessed Barn, who was kind enough to show me …

Beautiful evening wedding at the Pawleys Island Chapel with reception in the Hammock Shops

The bride was getting ready at her parent’s home and the ceremony was at the small chapel on the marsh in Pawleys Island. The chapel is really lovely because the big windows overlooking the marsh let in a lot of soft light that hits the couple during the ceremony. The only problem is because it’s so much brighter outside than inside, it’s difficult to see the marsh through the windows in pictures. One of my favorite …
