Family portraits at North Beach Plantation with my previous wedding couple

I had to quickly post about this family of three because I also shot their wedding pictures back in 2011! It was nice to see a previous wedding couple again after so many years, this time with a new addition to the family. Their new baby girl was also an excellent subject for pictures. Sometimes I needed other family acting silly or making sounds behind me and the camera to get a baby to smile, but she was great just for me without any extra help. She had some cutest expressions, like she knew she was showing off for the camera.

The weather that day at North Beach Plantation in North Myrtle Beach wasn’t the best. It was overcast, so we didn’t get the pretty colors of a sunset. But I always tell clients that you can still get a lovely look if we have to do the pictures on a cloudy day. The photos have a very soft appearance, without harsh shadows or strong highlights from the sun. Usually, to achieve a look like that, you must wait until very close to sunset, so an overcast day has advantages.

I hope you enjoy the pictures below. I’ve got a lot of weddings I’d like to put a blog post about once I get caught up on things.
